We found this article in the Boston Business Journal interesting for supporters of Boston Area Small Businesses. The Pipeline Fellowship, is launching its inaugural class in Boston in December with several prominent local women among the first class of fellows.

The fellows are:

Susan Duffy, executive director of the Center for Women’s Leadership, Babson College

Janet Simpson Benvenuti, president and CEO of Circle of Life Partners and president of the Benvenuti Family Foundation;

Linda Pizzuti Henry, director of the Red Sox Foundation.

The Pipeline Fellowship is a six-month program for women to learn the fundamentals of vetting and funding startups and for a group of mentors to help guide them through the process. There is a cost to each fellow to participate. Each fellow pays $3,500 to enter the program as well as committing to another $5,000 to invest with the group of fellows in a woman-led for-profit venture with a social mission. The program also has a Boston Pipeline Fellowship Conference scheduled for December 2, sponsored by Goodwin Procter.
