Here’s a look at some of the latest services offered by AWS in 2018.

Amazon Web Services, also known as AWS, is a secure cloud platform that offers services such as data storage and content deliver to its customers. For businesses and individuals alike, AWS offers a reliable way to store data, but there is so much more that they offer. In fact, they are constantly launching new services that are all designed to make their customers’ lives easier. Here’s a look at the latest services that AWS offers for 2018:

AppSync

AppSync is a fully managed server-less GraphQL service for real time data queries, communications, synchronization, and offline programming features. AppSync helps to keep users and app data secure. The service integrates with Amazon Incognito, AWS Identity, and Access Management to allow fine-grained permissions on GraphQL operations that put strict controls on who can access the data.

ECS, EKS, and Fargate

Elastic Container Service (ECS) is a highly scalable, fast, container management service that makes it easy to run, stop, and manage Docker containers on a cluster. Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) allows you to manage your container service and applications with Kubernetes. Kubernetes portable, extensible open-source platform for managing containerized services and workloads. Fargate is a compute engine that is new way to deploy container applications without having to manage servers or clusters. Fargate removes the need to choose servers types, when to scale your clusters, or optimize cluster packing.

Alexa for Business

To take their Echo devices to the next level, Amazon has introduced Alexa for Business. Companies will be able to managed shared devices and users as well as set up room-specific devices. The “custom skills” function will allow companies to create new skills to fit their needs. Think of Alexa for Business as a personal assistant for employees.

Machine Learning

Machine learning is a subset of artificial intelligence. This year Amazon is releasing a number of products using machine learning and deep learning applications. DeepLens is machine learning enabled wireless camera that is pre-trained to detect certain objects and development platform that is integrated with the AWS cloud. DeepLens gives you hands-on experience using a physical camera to run real-time computer vision models. DeepLens works with the following AWS services: Amazon SageMaker, for model training and validation, AWS Lambda, for running interference against CNN models, and AWS Greengrass, for deploying updates and functions to your device. SageMaker is intended to make machine learning and data modeling easier and more accessible to the average developer. SageMaker supports all machine algorithms and frameworks, which makes it much easier for developers.
